Launch of the Korean Language Program at the Higher Institute of Tourism and Hotels in Cooperation with KOICA
In implementation of the joint cooperation protocol between the Higher Institute of Tourism and Hotels in 6th of October City and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Korean Language Program was officially launched this morning, Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at the Language Lab of the Institute. The program is held under the patronage of Dr. Salwa El-Toukhy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute, and Dr. Sooyoung Park, Country Director of KOICA Egypt.
The program was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Hoda Sayed Latif, Dean of the Institute, in the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Tamer Abdelaziz, Coordinator of the cooperation between the two parties, and Mr. Konyoung Kim, Korean Language Instructor and KOICA volunteer, who is delivering the courses within the program.
In her opening remarks, the Dean warmly welcomed the participating students, emphasizing that introducing the Korean language into the Institute’s training programs reflects its strategic vision to enhance graduates’ competitiveness in the labor market. She further highlighted that Korean is considered one of the promising and in-demand languages that opens distinguished professional opportunities, particularly in light of the growing economic, tourism, and cultural relations between Egypt and the Republic of Korea. She encouraged students to demonstrate dedication and make the most of this valuable opportunity.
The launch of the program stems from the Institute’s firm belief in the importance of developing language skills as a fundamental pillar of professional excellence. The program offers progressive training levels designed to equip students with reading, writing, and conversational skills through a structured academic approach, thereby preparing qualified graduates capable of effective communication and engagement in international work environments.
