(HITH) seeks highly qualified students and accepts applications until a set period after results of the nationwide “Thanaweya Amma” scores have been announced Applicants must present a satisfactory secondary academic aptitude and achievement proficiency in the English language Moreover they are required to take placement aptitude and achievement exams, as well as English, Deutsche or French language tests. Admissions depend on the overall merit of the individual academic record and the number of applicants that the university can accommodate.  Priority is given to the students with the highest rankings: taking into consideration the secondary school grade point average and the university entrance exam scores. Exceptions are made to a certain number of qualified students who have special sports or cultural merits.

The admission requirements are as follows:

– A complete application form: filled out and signed by the student.

– A passing grade in the general entrance exam held by the institute as well as the language test in English, German or French.

– Submission of a recent medical record stating that the applicant is physically and mentally fit.

– Submission of the student files at the state office “Al Tanseek”.

In case the due time is missed, the applicant is required to deliver the following documents to the institute admissions office:

The original secondary certificate or its equivalent.

– An official Birth Certificate In the case of non-Egyptians, a passport copy is required.

– Egyptian male applicants are required to present a copy of their identity card

– Six passport-sized color photos are mandatory.

Criteria for Admission

The Institute uses the following criteria in admitting undergraduate students according to one of the following academic records:

  • The Egyptian Thanawya Amma or T. Amma from Arab countries.

  • The I.G.C.S.E certificate of eight ordinary level subjects at a minimum of grade “C” in each, taken in no more than 2 sittings during two years of study. Additional points will be granted to students who passed I.G.C.S.E subjects at AS or A level.

  • One foreign certificate of the following:

  1. French baccalaureate part II.

  2. German reifezeugnis or abitur.

  3. American diploma.

  4. Greek secondary school certificate.

  5. Canadian secondary school certificate.

The minimum average accepted is 2.00 points or C average.

  • Technicians and hotels diploma of two years of study after Thanawya Amma.

  • The hotels school diploma of three years of study or of five years of study,

  • The school Commercial Thanawya diploma of three years of study or of five years of study.

  • The school agriculture Thanawya diploma of three years of study or of five years of study.

  • Egoth diploma.

N.B.: According to guidelines set by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education in Egypt, an applicant should have completed a minimum of eleven years of primary preparatory/secondary/ education prior to applying to university, Irrespective of the category of his/her certificate.

 

Transfer Admission

The (HITH) accepts the transfer of students from accredited institutions of higher education according to the enforced rules and regulations started by the Higher Council of Universities in Egypt.

Transfer students are accepted for enrollment at the beginning of the academic year in September. International student should submit course description and syllabi to facilitate the process of evaluating possible transfer of credit hours. The student, accordingly, knows exactly the courses needed to complete his/her bachelor’s degree.

Postgraduate Admission:

The (HITH) seeks to attract its graduate studies excellent students who demonstrate ability and original work. A graduate applicant must have an acceptable bachelor’s degree with a satisfactory record.

An applicant must demonstrate a good command of at least one of these foreign languages. English, French, Deutsche, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, and Russian adequate for graduate studies.

The graduate committee in the institute will evaluate each applicant and recommend admission for those whose academic records and performance on the entrance exam would show.

Current programs (Undergraduate)

The students enrolled in the following programs are given the opportunity to choose a department from the following:

– Tourism studies

– Hotel studies

– Tour Guidance

The core subjects are distributed almost equally between theoretical and practical hours all year round including the in- between terms as well as the summer training. The theoretical concept encourages seeking for advanced and updated studies, surveys and researches in the field. The practical concept gives hand to the theoretical through training in hotels, Conventions, tour companies and travel agencies.

The graduation Project

It is prepared according to complete statistics and a survey study in the real Egyptian needs. The project takes genuine care in the program from day one along the academic year, and is presented at the end of the second semester. It is followed up on regular basis by professors and expertise, and then the day of the project exposition is rather tough. The jury is a staff of academics from different state universities, expert, and VIP’s in the tourism and hotel fields. The graduation of the student depends in his/her satisfactory score in the project as a major subject.

Collaboration with Others

With regard to the reputation the (HITH) has acquired along the working years in higher education, it has established cooperation with foreign education institutions overseas, such as “Perugia University: in Italy, the “japan Foundation” in japan, the Center for Egyptological studies of the Russian Academy of science, Egypt Branch and the High Institute for Tourism & Administration in the Republic of Ukraine. Scholarships are granted to the excellent students of the institute on the first three years study.

The Graduation Celebration Day

The (HITH) organizes the Graduation Day every Year, attended by the Staff, the parents, Alummi figures. Professors, VIP’s and businessmen.  This event is covered by the Egyptian TV channels and the local newspapers.
