A model of ambition and resolve Dr. Souad Kafafi is recognized as one of the top scholars in the history of education in Egypt. Born in 1928 she wielded inexhaustible effort to fulfill her goals, before she passed away in 2004

Professor Kafafi’s sound reputation was built on the wealth of her expertise, knowledge and dedication. Her high ranked qualifications and cultural merits combined with her will to exceed has helped achieve success for her foundation which strives to provide high quality education for student and faculty together.

In essence, she is now remembered as a figure that was committed to leading higher educational institutions with perseverance and success

Dr. Kafafi first established two higher educational institutes in 6th October city. The High Institute for Tourism & Hotels ( HITH ). Founded in 1990, and the High Institute for Architecture & Business Administration, founded in 1993.

Dr. Kafafi’s prime foundation (HITH) has helped set a new standard in exploring innovative potential areas in hospitality management and tour guidance within the tourism industry. Dr. Kafafi was always at the forefront of acquiring new program developments, core-course designs and selective curricular activities along with obtaining outstanding affiliations with other educational institutions in Europe and the United States.

In 1996 Dr. Kafafi then established Misr University for science and technology (MUST), Which is also located in 6th October city. It contains a number of faculties including Medicine (along with a teaching hospital), Computer & Information Technology Health Science & Applied Science, Humanities & Social Science, and Business, Construction Engineering and Technology.

Dr. Kafafi was known for creating a friendly work environment for students and faculty, as well as her dedication to provide students with knowledgeable advice and consistent support. Her main aim was enriching the local and foreign communities with experts in every field and training the future generation of specialists and educators to develop their awareness and vision.
